Welcome

to the High Country Lodge

The High Country Lodge is a special project of the

Magdalena Area Community Development Corporation (MACDC,)

a 501 c3 non-profit organization.

The mission of the MACDC is to improve the community & surrounding area

through projects dedicated to education, health, housing & job creation.

All proceeds of your stay area invested into

staff training, wages, facility maintenance & upgrades.

The Lodge was purchased in October, 2011 by the organization with funds supplied

┬áby a “financial angel.” The Lodge was destined to be left derelict unless sold.

Unless something was done, the community would be left with another empty building,

another dead business, a lack of ability to attract visitors for events

& accommodations for workers, dining & importantly, increased unemployment.

The facility dates back to the late 1960′s when it was known as the Ranchman’s Inn.

it was “the” place to dine in the area. In true Magdalena character, it was also a

“rough and tumble” place. The bar. now the fireside room, held weekly dances

& served fine steaks. From the 70′s into the 1990′s, there were several

changes which transformed the business into the current day High Country Lodge.

In visiting Magdalena, you step back in time to a world that stood still in the 1930′s.

Our restaurant offers traditional tastes of the area.

Our rooms reflect the eclectic style of the 1980′s.

However, with television & WiFi, you are in the 21st century.

We thank you for staying with us. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

The Staff & Volunteers of the High Country Lodge.
